Wine Enthusiast:
Made with 75% Corvina and 25% Corvinone grapes—organically grown and dried for 90 days—this opens with aromas of raisins, ripe plum and black pepper. The robust palate offers black currant, licorice, nutmeg and tobacco alongside close-grained tannins. Drink through 2022. Kerin O’Keefe
Robert Parker Wine Advocate:
The 2010 Amarone della Valpolicella Morar is made from organically farmed fruit sourced from the non-Classico half of the Valpolicella wine appellation. The blend used is 75-25 Corvina and Rondinella. This Amarone ages in botte grande for 30 months, while the Classico version also sees barrique. As a result, this version is clearly not as muscular or spice-driven in comparison. It reveals more fruit freshness with wild berry and dark cherry flavors. This wine will appeal to those who like slimmer, trimmer Amarone.
