Villa Le Prata

Villa Le Prata is a leading family owned traditional Brunello producer, with a history spanning from 1860. It was transformed from a count’s hunting lodge into a Bishop’s family residence before evolving into a leading boutique wine company. Today, the company is run by Anna Vittoria and Bernardo Losappio. Since the 1980s, the family has always been run by females and even the oenologists are almost always females. They personally follow each stage of production from the vines to the bottles.

Today, their elegant Brunello are produced in limited quantities, with only the best grapes used for their wines. This artisanal Brunello vineyard produces some of the world’s finest Brunello, enjoyed by discerning wine lovers worldwide.

They have consistently achieved top accolades amongst wine critics including Robert-Parker Wine Advocate, James Suckling, Vinous, Falstaff.

Top Brunello producer

Villa Le Prata’s Brunello reflect the terrior of the land – from the hilly and well drained soils, the significant presence of Pliocene pebbles. Their Brunello produced are particularly elegant and fragrant, moderately structured, aromatic, spicy and complex.

The best grapes are carefully hand-picked from vineyards located between 200-500m in altitude. It takes an average of 5 years before the Brunello is released into the market. Their Brunello would age in Slavonian oak and mature in French tonneaux for at least 42 months, before spending another six months in the bottle.
